As part of our program this year, Community-University Talks established two community youth bursaries. Youth at three local community organizations were invited to apply for a bursary of $250.00 in order to pursue an opportunity for mentorship and/or to further their studies and/or career aspirations. It has been our great pleasure to award the 2016 bursaries to Slone Grant and Jarad McFarlane.
Slone is a student and parent to a wonderful little boy and we are grateful for the opportunity to support her in pursuing her education. Jarad is also a student and an emerging visual artist, and we are happy to support him in developing his art practice. The bursaries were awarded this month at gatherings with our great friends at DESTA Black Youth Network
Congratulations Jarad and Slone and welcome to C-Uni-T!
